Sink strainer example
$12.99 sink strainer profit margin example
A sink strainer is boring in a good way: cheap, light, and easy to understand. The risk is that low-ticket orders cannot absorb much paid traffic.
Example numbers
| Selling price | $12.99 |
|---|---|
| Product cost | $1.55 |
| Shipping + packaging | $2.30 |
| Platform/payment fees | $1.04 |
| Creator commission | $1.95 |
| Ad spend per order | $1.35 |
| Return reserve | $0.45 |
| Estimated profit | $4.35 |
| Estimated margin | 33.5% |
What the math says
This example leaves decent margin, but it needs either organic content, bundles, or very controlled ads. A small ad mistake can still hurt a cheap product.
These are fictional planning numbers. Replace them with your supplier quote, packed shipping cost, commission plan, ad budget, and refund reserve before spending real money.
Test notes
- Show sink fit and dimensions clearly.
- Consider a two-pack only if the second unit improves profit.
- Do not stack coupons too early.
Run your version
If the product only works when every assumption is perfect, it is too early to scale. Run the calculator first, then put the product into a small test budget.
