Beauty example
$24.99 beauty accessory profit margin example
Works when the demo is clear and the creator cut stays disciplined. The numbers below are fictional, but the cost stack is the same one a TikTok Shop seller should check before ordering inventory.
Example numbers
| Selling price | $24.99 |
|---|---|
| Product cost | $6.40 |
| Shipping + packaging | $3.80 |
| Platform/payment fees | $2.00 |
| Creator commission | $4.50 |
| Ad spend per order | $3.50 |
| Return reserve | $1.44 |
| Estimated profit | $3.35 |
| Estimated margin | 13.4% |
What the math says
Testable, but not lazy-proof. A few extra returns or a 25% creator cut can turn this into a weak item fast.
A useful rule: do not judge the product from gross margin alone. Put creator commission, ad spend, payment/platform fees, shipping, packaging, and return reserve into one view. That is where weak products usually reveal themselves.
Test notes
- Use creators who can show the product on camera in under 10 seconds.
- Keep the first order small until return reasons are clear.
- If comments mention quality or sizing, pause before ordering more stock.
